My workshop is situated in an old stone farmyard building, which after a little bit of adaption is ideal for my woodturning needs. During the summer months I share tenancy with two pairs of nesting swallows, who have been returning safely now for many years.

I bought my current lathe in 1999. The V.B.36 is primarily a bowl turning lathe and this one of the main reasons I opted for it. The vast majority of my work is based around the face plate and the V.B. allows me great scope with the capability of turning up to 36" in diameter.
I cannot imagine it not fulfilling my turning requirements far into the future!

As hollowing is one of my passions, the purchase of the Hamlet deep hollowing system has answered most of my problems in that area. Like a lot of people I have a good % of tools gathering dust in my workshop but could not survive without my bowl gouges and a parting tool, as long as I have those and the Hamlet Goliath, I am happy and could easily do without the rest!
